About me

Nice to meet you!

I’m Elizabeth Powell. The name shortens to either Eli or Liz; you can use both interchangeably. I’m a transportation planner from Minneapolis and I sometimes create college basketball things.

In 2021, I created the Men’s Basketball All-Time AP Poll, which statistically is the reason you’re on this site.

From November 2022 to November 2023, I published the Name-a-Day Calendar, a daily series in which I dove into the athletic nickname history of all 360+ Division I institutions.

I am genderfluid and use they/them pronouns.

Professional background

I am a transportation planner and have been certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners since June 2025. My specialty is non-automotive transportation with a focus on bicycle and pedestrian networks. I am also a staunch advocate for the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights and the acceptance of non-conforming gender identities in the workplace. I currently work for an engineering firm in the Twin Cities.
